Good morning friend.
May your coffee today be filled with pumpkin spice and everything nice, today. I am delighted to say that the beginning of this week began with ever so subtle hints of the coming season change. The early mornings were a few degrees cooler, the air smelled different and I can feel it in my bones; it’s not just a hopeful wish at this point.
I am currently planning my next trip out to the desert, where my mom has been alerted to the coming autumn season as well. We both have that extra sense of the season ending, kind of like Lorelai Gilmore smells snow before it arrives. I am so looking forward to fall in Arizona, it is pretty magical.

As we approach the Autumnal Equinox, which is a month away, I am gathering momentum, somewhere deep down. There is something so poignant about the veil between the seasons thinning and this inner work happening, and yet remains to be seen externally. Sometimes we feel something arriving before there is any evidence of it and our instincts tell us to wait. Truthfully I feel like I thrive and am most inspired during the Autumn and Winter seasons; I long to be chilly and to sweat no more! Bring on the magic and deliciousness that coincides the days growing shorter.
Speaking of deliciousness, I looking forward to making my mom a special treat while I visit; it’s my Annual August Arizona visit to celebrate her birthday so I am thinking a decadent cake is in order. Perhaps a carrot cake…filled with autumnal flavors. Alright now that my mouth is watering and my mind has been side quested to my recipe book, I’ll leave you with this: may your week bring you small signs of the veil thinning and sparks of inspiration to create something magical.
I’ll meet you from my hideaway amongst the saguaros…
Same time next week.
